The Gimp Monkeys
When I started climbing over 12 years ago, I was privileged to get to know some amazing people in the climbing community. I started climbing at a local climbing gym in Provo, Utah called The Quarry. Of those people that I met and began climbing with was Jarem Frye. Jarem has a really neat story and has done some amazing things in the prosthetics industry. He is the founder of K12 Prosthetics and i've been impressed with his tenacity ever since I met him.
I ran into Jarem after not seeing him for quite a long time, in an Ikea parking lot. He told me at that time that he was training to climb El Capitan in Yosemite. I congratulated him on the endeavor and we were on our way. A few months later I had the opportunity to meet Arc'teryx Athlete Craig DeMartino when he came to Utah with his family during the Outdoor Retailer show. It wasn't until a couple months ago that I came across this video and the conversation I had with Jarem in the Ikea parking lot brought the stars together on the conversation I had had with Craig. This video is really neat, and congrats to these guys for their awesome ascent of the southeast face of El Cap!
